Slovenia at Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2019

Between 1 and 4 April the Slovenian Book Agency participated at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2019. The biggest Slovenian stand in Bologna so far occupied a space of 64m2 and highlighted those Slovenian illustrators, who have been selected for the main Illustrators’ Exhibition in the past years: Andreja Peklar, Maja Kastelic, Peter Škerl, Lila Prap, Alenka Sotler and this year's Ana Zavadlav, who also had a masterclass in the Illustrators' Survival Corner during the fair. Her huge cricket-illustration was the centre of attention and the most photographed part of our stand in the renovated hall 29.

Our partners of the programme in Bologna were: Mladinska knjiga publishing house and Pro Helvetia from Switzerland. Our co-exhibitors were some of the finest Slovenian publishers of children’s and YA literature: Miš publishing house, Sodobnost International, Pivec publishing house and Sanje.
