The residency programme is addressed to writers with at least two published works, as well as literary translators who have completed their training and have published at least two literary translations (students are not eligible). Translators are only eligible if they translate Slovenian literature into a foreign language. Preference will be given to those authors/translators whose project will contribute to the promotion and presence of Slovenian literature and humanities on the world stage.

Between 27 June and 2 July 2017, the Slovenian Book Agency and the Maribor Youth Culture Centre (MKC Maribor) hosted the 7th International Translation Seminar for Translators of Slovenian Literature into foreign languages. The seminar took place at the new location of the Maribor Youth Culture Centre. The organizers welcomed 12 distinguished translators, whom they provided with an inside look into the current state of contemporary Slovenian literature and the opportunity to work with acclaimed Slovenian authors, critics, publishers, lecturers and an international forum of colleagues.
