The public lending right is a measure to support authors of library materials.

It is carried out in two forms:

• as financial contributions to living authors of library materials for the lending of their works in general public libraries,
• as grants for creativity intended for prospective and acclaimed authors. These are awarded to professional associations in the field of literature, translation, film, music, illustration and photography selected through a public tender.
