  • Original title: 3 teorije: ideologija, nacija, institucija

This work is an original synthesis and expansion of humanistic theories that develops its own theoretical answer to how individuals are connected into society. Through critically reworking the psychoanalytical and anthropological theories of the subject and society and the historical Marxist theories of ideologies, the author produces his own theories of ideology, institution, and nation, bringing them together in a theory of society and social bonds. Ideology is a discursive social bond, which an institution organises into practices, while a nation is a special umbrella institution enabling ideological plurality. Močnik’s conceptual apparatus encompasses the broadest range of intersubjective relations: from inter-personal communication to the operation of mass ideology. His theory thus significantly contributes to the understanding of how societies function and, at the same time, opens up the political dimension of the struggle to transform social relations.
