Drago Jančar won this year's Kresnik Prize for the best novel of the past year for In Ljubezen Tudi (And Love Itself), a novel about the Second World War in the city of Maribor. He has become the first author to win the prestigious accolade four times.

Slovenia will be the Guest of Honour at the Bologna Children's Book Fair in 2021. A contract to that effect was signed in Bologna on 25th March by the director of the Slovenian Book Agency, Renata Zamida, and the fair's director, Elena Pasoli.
