JR5–TRUBAR–2026

The Slovenian Book Agency (JAK) will open the Call for proposals for funding cultural projects to co-finance the printing costs of translations of original Slovene works into foreign languages for the year 2026 (referred to as JR5–TRUBAR–2026) on 20 March 2026.

The subject of the public call JR5–TRUBAR–2026 is the selection of contractors and the co-financing of printing costs for translations of original Slovene works into foreign languages in 2026. JAK will also co-finance the translation of works written in other languages when the author is part of the Slovenian cultural environment. Within the framework of this call, JAK will co-finance the printing costs of first editions in foreign languages of authors whose original work is created in Slovene, or works written in other languages when the author is part of the Slovenian cultural environment, in the fields of literature and the humanities for adults, young adults, and children (including silent books, graphic novels, and comics), as well as essays and reviews from the fields of culture and art. This call specifically excludes support for the publication of textbooks, scientific monographs, exhibition catalogues, cookbooks, and self-help manuals. Eligible applicants are legal entities (publishers) registered abroad who intend to ensure the publication of the first translation of a literary work originally written in Slovene, or of a work written in other languages when the author is part of the Slovenian cultural environment. An individual applicant may submit a maximum of three (3) book projects under this call.

The call will remain open until 24 April 2026.
