We are delighted to invite you to the yearly meeting of Slovenian and German language publishers. This year, the meeting will take place on May 25th at Haus des Buches, Braubachstraße 16, Frankfurt. The event will begin at 11h.
The programme will feature a presentation of two authors from Slovenia, presentation of translation subsidies and other support from the Slovenian Book Agency and will be rounded up by a speed-dating session with Slovenian publishers. Scheduled activities will end by 16h.

Authors

Veronika Simoniti appeared on the Slovene literary scene as an author of short stories, which have won numerous competitions and been collected in two books. She has since written several more critically acclaimed works. Her novel Ivana pred morjem (Ivana in front of the sea) was nominated for the Modra ptica Prize for best manuscript (2017), for the Kritiško Sito Prize of the Slovene Literary Critics’ Asssociation (2020) and won the Kresnik Prize 2020 for the best Slovenian novel.

Boštjan Videmšek is a long-standing war reporter for Delo, Slovenia’s largest daily newspaper. He has reported from all major wars and conflicts over the last 25 years. His articles had been published in over a hundred international magazines. In recent years, his journalistic focus has shifted to the effects of climate change and the green energy development boom all across the globe. Plan B is a collection of the most promising projects in the fight with the climate crisis. He is currently finishing a book about the struggles of scientists to save northern white rhinos from extinction.
