Crocodile Charles enjoyed scaring the animals. That is what crocodiles do. All the animals were afraid of him, so he was lonely. And sad. One day he lost his first tooth. He had waited in vain for the tooth fairy for three days until the parrot told him the tooth fairy was afraid of him, just like all the other animals, and that is why she hadn’t visited. Charles told the parrot that there was no reason to fear him because he was very nice. The animals trusted him and came out of hiding and Charles realised that it’s actually nice if no one is afraid of you. He was no longer lonely and the tooth fairy has visited him many times since, because crocodiles have lots and lots of teeth.
